My Cholesterol Is 230 My Triglycerides Are 96 Hdl 61 Ldl 150 Should I Be On Medication?
I am 49 years old and my siblings are around my age as well and they are on medication for high cholesterol. I have not been advised to take anything and was concerned about these numbers since they showed up on my report with a star indicating abnormal/high.

Hi TLynn,
Your HDL and triglyceride levels are within normal. LDL is a little elevated. The American Heart Association recommends LDL be less than 130 mg/dl and ideally less than 100 mg/dl. Check out this posts for some steps you can take to lower LDL cholesterol with diet/lifestyle changes:
