Coffee breaks help relieve workplace stress

New research published in Symbolic Interaction found that taking coffee breaks with co-workers relieves stress in employees.

The study evaluated a group of public workers in Denmark who underwent a recent merger. The group took coffee breaks, where they shared their opinions and frustrations about work. This outlet helped reduce employees’ stress about their jobs and the merger--although, the study also noted it can be harder for a newcomer to enter into these social circles.

So go ahead and vent with your office buddies, it’s good for both you and the company.
