If You Have A Cold And A Dirty Cough Can Using Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution Help?
If you have a cold and a dirty, wheezy cough, can using albuterol sulfate inhalation solution help?
I'm not sure what you mean by a "dirty cough", but albuterol is designed to treat airway inflammation, as in the case of people who have asthma and/or COPD. If all you have is a cold without these underlying conditions, then I would not advise you to use an albuterol inhaler. Of course, if you already have asthma and you also have a bad cold, it can be helpful to take your inhaler during that time. It's often prescribed at the end of a bad cold, particularly if you show signs of bronchitis.
If you mean that you have a lot of phlegm with your cough, you might try the OTC medicaiton Mucinex (this will split up the congestion and help you cough it up.)
If you are concerned about your symptoms or looking for solutions, a better tactic would be to call your doctor for advice or a prescription.
