Can A Colonoscopy Cause Fever?

My husband had a colonoscopy this morning and now he has a fever of 101. Is this a reason to worry?

Hi Worried,

In situations like this, it's best to call the doctor's office who did the scope and tell them what's going on. Your husband could be severely dehydrated from the Prep, or he could have been working on a bug or flu that is just hitting him now. Either way, it's always good to check-in with a doctor who has done a procedure when you're having troubles afterwards. Especially since the weekend is around the corner and it will be harder to see or talk to a doctor come Sat.
