My Creatine Kinase Serum Test Result Of 146.how Bad Is 146,what Can I Do, Thank You

Answer

Hi Mary,

The normal level for cratine kinase (or creatine phosphokinase) vary for men versus women.

Women: 30-135 U/L

Men: 55-170 U/L

An elevated creatine kinase indicates there was damage to either muscle or brain tissue. In fact, extremely elevated levels indicate injuries, rhabdodomyolysis, myocardial infarction, myocarditis, myositis, malignant hypethermia, McLeod syndrome, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and hypothyroidism. A heart attack, a muscle disease or a stroke may result in abnormally raised creatine kinase levels in the blood. Statin medications may also elevated creatine kinase levels.

Be to consult your physician to determine the cause and appropriate treatment steps.
