I have Type 2 diabetes. Is it healthy two eat a few dried figs or apricots when I crave for something sweet?

Your doctor is always going to be the best source of information for you in terms of choosing foods that will be safe to eat with your diabetes. However, I did find some information on figs that you might be interested in. Figs are not actually a fruit at all -- they are a synconium. They're not only sweet but high in fiber, and fiber helps to slow the digestion and absorption of sugars that you eat. This means that figs have the potential to be a healthful snack for people with diabetes, as long as their doctor believes it's a good choice for their particular circumstances.
