Diet To Control Pancreatitis And Diabetes?
I had acute pancreatitis recently, and in the hospital they said it was caused by the metformin I take for my diabetes. They took me off that medication and said that I should just use diet to control my diabetes. How do I bring my blood sugar down with diet?
I'm not a doctor, but from what you're describing, it sounds like you suffered a bout of metformin-induced acute pancreatitis, which can be a dangerous condition. This would explain why your doctors took you off this medication and suggested you control your blood sugar with diet alone. Here are some links from our site that can help you make decisions about diet and your diabetes, though you'll of course want to work closely with your doctor to find the right balance for your body.
