Does Anyone Have Experience With This Kind Of Headache?

My wife has been experiencing a type of head pain I've never heard of before. Her scalp and even her hair have become extremely painful to touch, to the extent that she can't even comb her hair or touch her head. It's the same spot, near the crown of her head, although the intensity of the pain seems to vary from time to time — and at times it's quite severe. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks.

Answer

Stoic,

Welcome to MyMigraineConnection!

What you're describing sounds a lot like Allodynia, which is when stimuli that usually aren't painful become painful. Allodynia is sometimes a symptom of Migraine.

If she hasn't seen her doctor, it really is time for her to do so. The sooner she finds out what this is, the sooner she may be able to find relief.

Please let me know how she does?
