How Does High Or Low Blood Pressure Effect Capillary Blood Flow?

Answer

Hi Nicole,

Capillaries are very small blood vessels and would be impacted just as your veins and arteries are by high/low blood pressure. With high blood pressure the force against the capillary walls will be increased and low blood pressure the pressure against the capillary walls would be reduced. If blood pressure drops to low you may have circulation issues with blood not getting circulated throughout some of the capillaries sufficiently.

All the best,
