Does Lyrica Help Rheumatoid Arthritis?

as V mentioned, Lyrica is primarily prescribed for fibromyalgia. RA can cause inflammation in muscles and tendons, as well as joints, but Lyrica is not an anti-inflammatory. However in my experience, you can have muscle pain even if your muscles and tendons are not inflamed. When your joints hurt, you move in different ways and that can cause a lot of tension in your muscles. As well, being in pain makes you more tense and we're right back to muscle pain again. Lyrica may help with that kind of pain. Still, unless you have fibromyalgia, most doctors will prescribe NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like naproxen or Celebrex) or opioid painkillers for RA. Was it your rheumatologist who prescribed this medication? Do they suspect that you have fibromyalgia, as well as RA?
