How Does Morphine Work In Your Body
How does morphine work to control pain? Thanks for your response.
Morphine binds itself to the µ (mu) opioid receptor, which prevents the receptor from sending pain messages to the brain. So unlike something like an anti-inflammatory that works on the cause of pain (by reducing inflammation), morphine and drugs in that same class keep you from feeling the brunt of it.
