Does Penicillin Cause Elevation Of Blood Pressure
patient is a 70 year old man who suddenly has blood pressure of 180/90 started after starting penicillin. could this be the problem?
Answer
Hi Mary,
No, high blood pressure is not a side effect of penicillin. It's possible the elevation is linked to increased stress on your body due tot he recent infection; however, I recommend discussing with your physician. Your treatment plan may need to be altered.
