Does Salt Increase Cholesterol?

Thanks for your question.

The simple answer is no. Salt intake has no effect on Cholesterol. Foods that are high in cholesterol often have a high salt intake, which adds to taste appeal. Also, many people with a cholesterol problem also have high blood pressure, and so many physicians ask patients to follow a low cholesterol as well as a low salt diet.

I hope this has been helpful.
