Can I Eat Grapefruit While On Tricor?

Hi Sfraser,

It is best to discuss medication interactions with your MD. Your MD is fully aware of your situation and able to give the most accurate advice.

I did a quick check on Tricor and do not see any drug-food interaction related to grapefruit.

Grapefruit is a good source of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant. Antioxidants help prevent the oxidation of LDL and build-up of arterial plaque when LDL levels are too high.

However, you do not want to go overboard on grapefruit, especially if you have high triglycerides. Grapefruit affects blood sugar levels which can impact triglycerides.

Again, it is best to discuss drug interactions with your MD.

All the best,
