Can You Take Excedrin Migraine And Naproxen Sodium

Is it safe to take Excedrin Migraine and Treximet together?

Answer

Actually you should be careful with these drugs - not because of the strong painkillers but because of the aspirin and NSAIDS involved. Combining those two together increases the risk of stomach bleeding and gut inflammation. Some protective features that aspirin offers for the heart are also negated when you take these two medications together. Aspirin also appears to reduce the levels of NSAID's in your system thus possible possibly impairing their effectiveness. Unless you have heart problems the main issue revolves around the gut.

As Karen points out below, taking Excedrin Migraine too often can cause medication overuse headaches.
