Can You Take Excedrin Migraine And Naproxen Sodium?

Hi SC,

I'm sorry to say no one online can tell you whether or not it is safe for you to take these medications together not knowing what other medications you may be taking or what other health conditions you may or may not have. This is a conversation for you and your doctor, or at least you and your pharmacist.

I can tell you these medications are used to relieve pain: Excedrin Migraine has acetaminophen/aspirin/caffeine in it, while naproxen sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication. The thing is taking Migraine abortive meds such as the triptans or ergotamines or any kind of pain medication -- prescription or over-the-counter -- more than two or three days a week can make matters worse by causing medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound. See Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires for more information on this.

I hope this helps,
