Answer

Hi Mary

Radon is odorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by the decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and water. The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that about 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year in the U.S. and most of the information is about longer term exposure.

There are many causes of forgetfulness that range from very serious llnesses such as heart, lung and kidney problems to Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Anxiety and depression are also common causes. The only way to find out what is the matter is to encourage your relative to see a doctor. The doctor will know if radon could be a factor in his symptoms.

Here is a link to more information on radon exposure that may be helpful to you. I am sorry I cannot be of more help.
