Can Extreme Pain Cause Extended High Blood Pressure?

I have had a horrible infection in one of my wisdom teeth for awhile now, a LOT of PAIN and antibiotics seemingly aren't working. During this time, I have noticed that I have spells of seriously high blood pressure, example 177/98, which it has been for the past day or two. I need to know if this tooth thing can be causing this or if I need to see my physician for BP meds.
