How Fast Can It Kill You

how fast can osteoporosis kill someone?

Answer

Hi yoyo, welcome...Normally osteoporosis does not kill you. Are you in a situation where you or a family member have broken a hip?

If an elderly person or someone younger with poor health, sustains a hip fracture and is unable to get exercise or physical therapy afterwards, there is a "possibility" that a blood clot could develop. "If" this happens it can be treated, but if for some reason the clot moves and causes a stroke, heart attack, pneumonia or pulmonary embolism it could be fatal, but there are a lot of "ifs" here.

Osteoporosis by itself is not fatal. However, if other health issues develop as a result of a fracture, then it is possible to have the above happen, but there's no gaurantee that this will occur.

If you suffered a debiltating clot, that causes something more serious to occur there's no way to say how long it would take or if this would cause death.

Good luck...If you have another question or more information post again.
