A few days ago I started experiencing aching pains in my right arm, extending to my shoulder and around to the back of my shoulder blade and sometimes under my arm pit. Any idea what it could be? I've felt a small twinge of mild pain in the lower right part of my neck that sometimes extends into my chest areawhere my shoulder connects. None of it is severe, but it is very uncomfortable. It is a dull, aching pain, with twinges of sharper pains frequently in other parts of my arm and shoulder, and only on the right side. It has lasted about four days. Any idea what this could be?

Answer

I know this is an old question, but I did want someone from our staff to answer you! I hope you've long since discovered the cause of this problem and gotten some treatment for it. I'm only a layperson though, and only a doctor can accurately diagnose the issue after an exam.

If you did find out what was causing the symptoms and got treatment for it, perhaps you'd consider coming back and telling us how things turned out for you? Your experience might be invaluable to someone else suffering from the symptoms.
