I Found A Longated Lump In My Left Side.

I recently had a mamogram and they sent me for another mamogram and ultra sound on that side, but what I thought they were looking at and what they were really looking at were 2 different areas. I still feel this lump but don't want to be a bother. Maybe it is nothing

Answer

Kate, an elongated lump is most likely a fibroadenoma. However, if you don't feel like you were heard, and the lump you're worried about wasn't assessed, then by all means ASK. You're not a bother; no one wants you to feel stressed, and the medical folks certainly don't want to miss a possible cancer diagnosis. So - call, describe the area in question, and ask whether that specific area shows in the mammogram, OK? You are NOT worrying needlessly! You're taking responsibility for your health, and that's a good thing. Be well - PJH
