I've got a pain in my lower back that wraps around my side and down my leg, too. It's a dull pain, but still really uncomfortable. Does anyone know what might help?

Answer

It'll take a doctors examination to really tell you what's going on. Low back pain that radiates down ones leg,. however, is often due to compression of a nerve in the lower back area; something that is sometimes called 'sciatica'. Many people experience 'sciatica' at some point in their lives and it often goes away on its own.

One thing I do for lower back pain is to lie on my stomach on the floor and use my arms to slowly raise my upper body a bit I hold it for a few seconds at first and then extend the time. This can help put the curve back into your lower back and will sometimes relieve your pain. (I'm a big fan of gentle stretches for low back pain). You might also want to try anti-inflammatories for a few days and see if they help, but if this continues you'll have to see a doctor to find out what's going on.
