Is This Good? Total Cholesterol 106, Hdl 57, Ldl 30, Trig. 95.

I have total cholesterol of 106 (HDL 57, LDL 30, Triglycerides 95), but I don't know if that's a good or not. Does anyone here know?

Answer

There are recommendations for cholesterol numbers from the American Heart Association. Here's the breakdown:

Total cholesterol should be less than 200
HDL cholesterol should be > 40, ideally, > 60
LDL cholesterol should be less than 130, and ideally less than 100
Triglycerides should be less than 150

So your cholesterol is low. That sounds good, right? But there are risks associated with low cholesterol that most people don't understand. It can be associated with depression and anxiety, for one thing, as well as trauma, cancer, and even hemorraghic stroke.
