Half of men at risk for cancer by 2027
The average man will have a 1 in 2 chance of developing some kind of cancer during his lifetime by 2027. You might think it has to do with the soaring obesity rates or high number of type 2 diabetes cases, and those factors certainly do weigh into the bleak predictions. But, the main cause is much simpler than that: life expectancy. Because homo sapiens are living longer than ever before our bodies have more time to develop diseases such as cancer.
Women will also see an uptick in cancer risk: 44 out of every 100 women will develop cancer at some point in their lives by 2027. This particular study is based on people in the United Kingdom, but the findings are consistent with life expectancy and cancer predictions across the globe.
