I have read that herpes can be present in saliva, and I am wondering if I kiss a person with a genital herpes outbreak could the virus be in his saliva, or is that only true with oral herpes?
If you kissed someone on the mouth who had genital herpes, then no, you wouldn’t risk infection. However, if the person you kissed has oral herpes (which cause cold sores), then you could contract that.
