My Husband Had Bypass Surgery, Experiencing A Burning Sensation In Chest And Arm, Should He Go To Er

My husband had quadruple bypass surgery in February. He is a-typical - doesn't drink or smoke, is athletic, thin and he's the first in the family with heart disease. Now, it's September and he's having a burning sensation in his chest (says like after the surgery healing kind of pain). But he says that sometimes the pain goes down his arm. Should I bring him to ER tonight or can it wait 'til the morning?

Answer

Hi Daughn,

I hope you have contacted his physician since posting this question. I recommend he be evaluated by his physician as soon as possible.
