There is no way anyone here can answer this exactly for you, without examining you or knowing more about your history. However, I can give you some general information. Working out or being active has health benefits for anyone. So, going to the gym is a great idea, on many levels, provided you use common sense and work up gradually with your exertion level and frequency and intensity of the exercise.
But it is also a fact that many people with asthma will experience a flare-up of symptoms with exercise. This is called exercise-induced asthma. That doesn’t mean you can’t exercise… many Olympic athletes have asthma, yet still compete.
But it does mean you might need to use an inhaler either before or during exercise. Your doctor is the best one to make the determination of how to deal with your exercise-induced symptoms. So talk with him or her, OK?
As far as taking supplements, you do need to be careful, as supplements may interact in unexpected ways with other medications. The best one to answer that question for you, again, is your doctor, or failing that, your pharmacist who knows the other medications you are taking.
To your health,
