Could An Illness Have Caused My High Blood Pressure?

My bp was always great/normal, but went up permanently a year+ ago after 2 illnesses - could either have caused this? One was a flu with a headache at the back of my head(low) and was treated w antibiotics after a week for a middle ear infection. Pain in an ear lingered for 2 mos. A month after the flu I had a drug reaction causing dehydration, where I had a thumping in the same area, back of head.

Answer

Hi Karen,

It's possible for an infection/illness to be linked to high blood pressure. I recommend discussing with your physician.
