Can I Take Imitrex And Tylenol 3 Together?
Hi "your mom"
Why do you want to? Doesn't Imitrex abort your Migraine? If not, it is time to find a triptan or other drug that will and that is a conversation for you and your doctor.
As far as being able to take them together, we have no way of telling you whether or not it is safe for YOU to do so. We don't know about any other medications you may take, other conditions you have and so on. I can't find any significant known interactions between these two medications, BUT you need to ask your doctor this question. There are factors to be considered in addition to possible interactions between these two medications -- any health issues/conditions you may have, and ALL other medications you are taking including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements, etc.
Anyone who has three or more Migraines a month needs to be talking with their doctor about prevention. There's growing evidence that Migraine is a progressive brain disease. A recent study showed that Migraines can cause brain damage, and that people with three or more Migraines a month are more susceptible to this damage. For more information, see Is Migraine a Progressive Brain Disease? and Yes, Migraines Can Cause Brain Damage.
There are now over 100 medications and supplements that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention. The frustration of trying to find what works for us can make it seem as if we've tried it all, but with so many possible preventives, it's literally impossible to have tried them all. See Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up! for more information.
