Can You Take Iron Pills With Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug?-naproxen?
My first question is: why do you need to take Iron pills? If you have iron deficiency anemia, the first thought is that you might have a slow bleed presumably in the GI system. In that case, you should not take an anti-inflammatory like naproxen.
I am unaware of an interaction between iron and anti-inflammatory medications and can be taken together. The question is whether or not you can safely use an anti-inflammatory considering the bleeding risk they pose.
Because your doctor knows your history and the reason why you are taking iron pills, only your doctor can determine if certain medications are appropriate for you.
