Itching, Burning In Vagina After Sex?

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend yesterday and today I feel a slight burning and itching feeling in my genital area. My boyfriend and I are monogamous (as far as I know). I clean down there all the time. This past week I've been using some baby wipes, so could it also just be irritated from that?

Answer

It may be time for an honest discussion with your boyfriend about whether or not he has been exposed to any STDs.   Is there a reason why you have had sexual relations with no protection?   This may be something you want to think about if you wish to continue having sex with him.   You don't want to have to worry about this.

Please know that I am not a doctor but it seems unlikely that you would have instant symptoms the day after of an STD.   It sounds more like you have irritated skin or possibly an infection.   If you have any unusual discharge, an odor, pain, ulceration, buring when you urinate, etc....you should probably see your doctor.   It may just be due to the wipes you are using.

See your doctor if you have any doubts or worries.
