The skin become raised almost giving a ring worm like look and the proceeds to spread into bigger areas. I haven’t had any of these occur on the face area, mainly thighs and forearms w/ some on my lower legs. They itch severely a couple times a day. No one else in my family have this so i’m guessing it hasn’t spread yet and hoping it won’t. The doctors have tried fungus medications both topical and oral medicines. But none have made a difference. I’m looking for any other suggestions/ideas before my next appointments.

Answer

Hi there

Have you had your appointment yet?

It would be next to impossible to tell you what this could be especially over the Internet. It sounds like you are doing the right things by ruling certain things out. Is there any chance that this is an allergy? Have you been exposed to any weeds, plants, animals, etc.? Have you used any new lotions, soaps, or detergents? Are you affected by heat? Have you ever had eczema or psoriasis? There are too many possibilities to mention here.

You may wish to read my post on What to Do if You have an Unexplained Skin Rash.

I would keep a log of your symptoms, treatments you have tried, and maybe even take a photo of the affected areas and date it. Take this information with you to your doctor or dermatologist.

Thank you for your question and please let us know what you finally find out about your rash…it may help our other members.
