I’m not a medical doctor, but here’s what I’d suggest based on a quick look at the literature. First of all, HealthCentral’s site notes:
Irregular periods - A woman can have irregular periods for several months to years before her periods finally stop. Any vaginal bleeding that develops after a year of no periods is abnormal and should be evaluated by a doctor.
You haven’t made it through a full year without a period, so irregular periods can still be expected (which also means you’re still in perimenopause). Also, I found another resource that indicates that as you get later in the perimenopause phase (and closer to menopause), you may experience spotting. Based on your missed periods, I would guess that you’re in this phase. However, if you are worried, I’d encourage you to visit with your doctor.
Take care and stay in touch!
