I Just Mesured My Blood Pressure, Itis 123/80 Got A Little Worried Because My Pulse Reading Is 103

I am 64 years old female and had high blood pressure for about 20 years, what do you recomend for my high pulse.

Thank you

Answer

Hi Lilia,

A standard heart rate for an adult is ~70 beats per minute, but anywhere between 50-100 beats per minute can be normal. Typically the more fit you are the lower your heart rate. Getting more physical activity will improve heart health and promote a lower heart rate. I recommend you discuss with your physician to determine if there are other steps you need to take.

All the best,
