Is Kelp Okay To Take If You Have High Blood Pressure?

I Have high blood pressure and I take pills to control it. But I have been taking kelp for a while now and I would like to know if it is okay to continue taking the kelp.

Answer

Hi Rosann,

I am not aware of a link between kelp and high blood pressure; however, there is always potential for a drug-nutrient interaction and recommend discussing all supplements (including the kelp) with your physician to determine if there is potential for a drug-nutrient interaction between the kelp and your meds.
