Last Week I Sliped On The Ice And Fell Right On My Right Sight Side Of My Back. I Swore It Felt Like I Broke All The Ribs On My Right Side.

Last week I sliped on the ice and fell right on my right sight side of my back. I swore it felt like I broke all the ribs on my right side.... I went to the hospital and they xrayed my back and said I didnt break any ribs but I pulled all the muscles on the right side and brused my internal organs... I feel a little better but when I sneeze I get a very very bad pain right under my rib cage on my right side in my back.... I would like to know why? pls help me it really really hurts.....

Answer

Hi Christian -; I had a similar injury following a car accident several years ago -; I pulled all the muscles and ligaments surrounding my rib cage. I can tell you that the pain of those pulled muscles around my ribs was far worse than a more serious injury I also received that required surgery. Although I don't remember exactly how long it took for all of the pain to go away, I do know it was well more than two weeks. It seems like it took about a month before I could breathe deeply, sneeze or laugh without a great deal of pain.

But as Cort said, if you're concerned or have questions about the pain, don't hesitate to check back with your doctor. I wish you a speedy recovery!
