Latest Beauty Trend: Freckle Tattoos

Cosmetic tattooing—including tattooed eyebrows and eyelashes—isn't really a new fashion trend, but now, more and more young women are turning to tattooed freckles for a "fresh face" look. Freckle tattoos offer a longer-term option than drawing on freckles and moles with makeup.

To achieve this look, a tattoo artist follows the natural line of the customer's freckle trail on the face, adding freckles. Within a few months, the freckles lighten to blend in with the natural skin tone. Results last about three years before fading.

Real freckles are a sign of skin damage from sun exposure, in spite of how adorable they may look. It's important to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun by reducing exposure and wearing sunscreen. In the long run, doing that will go a long way in keeping the skin beautiful, reducing the signs of aging, and decreasing skin cancer risk.
