Hi Suki, This is not a rare occurrence though many people believe once you haven’t bled for a year, you won’t ever again…or, if you do, it is a sign of a problem. Since you say your periods have been regular, seem like normal periods, it is most likely not a medical issue. Your body is just not ready to be done. You may have another period or 2 but then stop for good. IF you have spotting or irregular bleeding, you need to be seen for an evaluation…probably an ultrasound and biopsy. These are the 2 more common signs of a medical issue in a postmenopausal woman. Sandy Greenquist, CNM
