How Long Does Xanax Stay In Your System
Xanax is a benzodiazepine. Benzo's stick around in your body at full strength for about 12 hours. After that the body starts into a withdrawal stage and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be more intense if the benzodiazepine involved possesses a relatively short duration of action (or how long it works at full strength) such as lorazepam. Benzo's are excreted from the body in the urine and the stools. According to the first website below, 95% of the drug is excreted within 120 hours (five days) mainly in the urine. So it should still be detectable in the urine after 5 days. According to the second website below the detection period in the urine for benzodiazepines in general is 3 - 7 days.
