I Have Had Lower Back Pain With Numbness And Pins And Needles Down Both Legs Cant Take More Then A Couple Of Steps Before My Legs Give Way What Can Be The Cause Of This

I have lower back pain with numbness and pins and needles down both legs. I can't take more than a couple of steps before my legs give way. What can be the cause of this?

Answer

Abnormal sensations in the legs like pins, needles, burning and electrical pain are all usually as a result of unhappy nerves. The nerves can experience problems in various locations from brain to toe. When low back pain is present, then the spine is the most likely area of problems. Spinal Stenosis, disc herniations, cysts or spondylolethesis can all be possible diagnosis.

When the nerve symptoms are worse with walking, this is called neurogenic claudication.

All in all, it sounds like you need to see a doctor.
