had lump for 6 six months on upper part of breast where cleavage and breast bone meet. doctor says that the lump is swollen lymph node and ones in neck are swollen. should i be concerned and continue to find the reason why swollen? doctor says dont worry will resolve by self. Confused!!!

Answer

Kate, if the doctor can’t or hasn’t told you why your lymph nodes are swollen, you should definitely get another opinion. Clearly there’s something going on that’s making them swell; usually it’s a sign of infection or something else your white blood cells don’t like. I’d pursue this if I were you; either make the doctor do more tests to ascertain what’s up, or ask for a referral to another doctor for a second opinion. Good luck - PJH
