i m 48 years old i was hospitalized due to MI inferior wall myocardial infarction in 1997, now my serum cholesterol is 180 and Triglyceride is 152 now tell me is it dangerous for me or not? now tell me what will be my next step for prevention 2nd heart attack

Hi Agha,

Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:

Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150

Also, if you haven't had a comprehensive lipid profile to look at your cholesterol particle sizes I recommend discussing with your physician.
