Is Being More Manic Than Depressed Normal?

I seem to be more manic more than anything else for the past couple years. Is this possible? Everything I've read says depression is more common with bipolar and mania just happens occasionally. It's confusing.

Answer

Hi JenGen,

Well it really depends upon the type of bipolar you have. There are 'rapid cycling' types and various others categories. It may help if I point you in the direction of this article called Bipolar Disorder Overview. The various categories I mentioned are outlined in a fairly concise way.

Have you been consulting with your doctor over medication? It seems a shame that you are experiencing so many episodes in such a short span of time - although it can and does happen.
