Do Marines Receive Shots During Boot Camp To Prevent Erections
A friend in the marines suffered drastic inflammation and swelling of a testicle after having received shots in boot camp, including ..it is rumored... one or more to lower sex drive and prevent erections. Unfortunately soon after he was diagosed with multi cell cancer and a testicle was removed. Does anyone know of similar experiences?
I'm sorry to hear that your friend had to go through that. I'm not an expert on military medical issues, but I seriously doubt the shots had anything to do with it. Here is a link to a list of vaccinations that military personnel usually receive: Military Vaccinations
For decades it has been rumored that the military does something to reduce the libido of recruits. Because often male recruits experience a significantly decreased sex drive, for years some thought the military put saltpeter in their food or drinks. However, there has never been any evidence that could be true. A more likely explanation for the decreased libido is the physical exhaustion and stress they are under combined with living in such close quarters with other men. Here is a link to more information about that rumor: The Saltpeter Principle
