Jane Martin is an accomplished respiratory therapist, author and founder and director of Breathing Better, Living Well.com.
Jane M. Martin is a respiratory therapist with over twenty-five years of experience. In addition to her work in respiratory care, Jane is an accomplished author and founder and director of Breathing Better Living Well.com, a website providing information about chronic lung disease, as well as stories, articles, and an active forum for pulmonary patients to share experiences in a positive and accepting community.
In her work in pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing support groups Jane was inspired by her patients, but concerned for others with little or no information and support, living in isolation and despair. In an effort to bring patients together to help each other, she wrote Breathe Better, Live in Wellness: Winning Your Battle Over Shortness of Breath, sharing stories of everyday people with extraordinary and inspiring wisdom, humor, and courage, not only surviving but thriving in spite of chronic lung disease.
Originally from the Chicago area, Jane obtained a bachelor's degree in Education and Language Arts from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She studied respiratory therapy through the California College for Health Sciences in San Diego, California. As a licensed Respiratory Therapist, she currently works in Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Holland, Michigan. She is a member of the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care, the American Association for Respiratory Care, the Asthma Network of West Michigan, and serves on the editorial boards of The COPD Digest and Alpha-1 to One.
