I really want to go back to work but I am so afraid to since I quit working 10 years ago because of migraines . What are the best jobs to have if you’re a migraine sufferer?
This is similar to question like “what foods trigger a Migraine attack for you?” The key here is each one of us may have our Migraines triggered by different things. For example, an office job with fluorescent lighting and computers might not trigger a Migraine for one person, ut it might very well trigger a Migraine for others. Migraines at Work? Check the Lighting is a good article to read about this topic.
I guess my point is, there really isn’t one job that fits the bill for all Migraineurs.
Trigger identification and then management is an important part of Migraine management and preventing Migraines. You may have some triggers that you can avoid, thus preventing Migraines brought on by those triggers. Do you know what any of your triggers are? When working to identify triggers one of the best tools is a good Migraine diary. You can read more about this and download a free diary workbook in our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.
Some of us have food triggers; some of us don’t. It’s advisable to determine if your daughter does, and an elimination diet is the best way to do that. For more information and a workbook on this, see Managing Migraine - Migraine Trigger Foods.
