Mild Chest Pain For 4 Months…
Hello, My name is Derek, I’m 34 years old. I have noticed for the last 3 or 4 months that I’ve had chest discomfort with occasional shooting pains in left side of chest. First of all, I’m athletic. I’m 6 foot 4 inches and about 235 lbs. I have an ok diet, though its not perfect, I try to eat as well as I can. Also, I have no history of heart problems in my family. I work out probably 3 or 4 times a week, I never have these pains when I lift weights or run. I sit down a lot at my job and I have a long drive home. These pains always occur when I’m sitting, never when standing or doing something. This is obviously very frustrating as I have been to the doctor several times and have had an EKG done and chest xrays, blood tests, everything came back good. This is also frustrating because I still have the aches and I don’t know what to do. About the time I remember the pain started, I really thought I was dying, I was extremely nervous and I think I had a panic attack. Since then I’ve noticed these pains. I’ve researched these things on the web for months and I know Anxiety can be a cause of these symptoms. I guess I just want to feel at ease that it’s nothing serious, deep down I know it’s not. But there is still the “what if” factor. Any feedback regarding this would be much appreciated. Thank you so much!
Best of luck,
