Can You Mix 20mg Of Ambien With 150 Mg Of Trazodone?

My teenage daughter has always had trouble sleeping. She took 20 mg of Ambien at 11:30 p.m. It is now 2:30 a.m. and she is pleading with me and crying for Trazodone. Is it safe? My thought is no, but in her desperation, I thought I'd see what your advice would be.

That dose of ambien is already quite high - in fact at that dose doctors worry about retrograde amnesia and altered sleep stage issues. Adding that amount of Trazadone could be highly dangerous.

Not to sound too preachy - but you are dispensing way to high doses to a teenager - was this amount of Ambien prescribed to her or did she just decide it wasn't working so I'll take more? and then to even contemplate adding a second sleep medication - is extremely worrisome to me.

Please get a doctor involved who can be the "go to guy" so you are not put in a difficult position by your teen - if she really needs sleep - she needs a professional dispensing the medication.
And you also should be making sure the meds are in your possession and then being dispensed - having raised 2 teens - these are meds I was in control of - not them.
