Can You Mix Sodium Chloride And Albuterol?

Answer

Your body fluid contains 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCL)and the solution your albuterol is mixed with inside each amp contains that same 0.9% NACL solution. In medical terms, we refer to this 0.9% solution as normal saline. Before Albuterol came premixed in amps we had to mix the albuterol solution with about 3cc normal saline (which is the content of NS in each amp). So, yes, you can mix sodium chloride with albuterol. However, I would not recommend adding in any extra salt to your albuterol nebulizer.
