I Have A Muscle Pull Type Pain In My Chest, It Only Hurts When I Am Lying Down. What Is Happening?

For the past week and a half, every night, I have had a muscle type pain in my upper left side. The pain only occures when I am sleeping. The pain creeps into my left under arm and to the back side of my upper chest. Why is this happening, and what is going on?

Thank you for your help.

Answer

Hi Medically Interested,

I recommend you contact your physician to be evaluated and determine the cause of your chest pain. Whenever you suffer from chest pain, you should seek medical advice from your doctor or an ER immediately. Heart attack symptoms are sometimes not as dramatic as we've been led to believe by the media and films/TV, but they can still do a great deal of damage and be quite dangerous.
